This weekend Rowan Cottage was bathed in glorious Spring
sunshine. Whilst down at sea level the mists shrouded everything. After a day
in the garden we decided to have a pre-dinner drink at the Islay hotel, so we
set off in the beautiful sunshine planning to take our drinks outside.
Two miles down the high road we were enveloped in a true
“Scotch mist”. So over to plan B we
joined the locals inside in the bar. Two drinks later we were homeward bound
and soon back into the late evening sunshine.
We were greeted as we pulled into the drive by two
interlopers admiring our “host of golden daffodils”. These were no ordinary
admirers. This duo of woolly backed plant munchers were happily nibbling our
borders.
None paying guests do not get free meals so they were duly
evicted. That is why we have to keep the gate firmly closed, although we need
another plan for the Easter bunnies!
